Watch Strap Size Guide
Choose the right size for your Salam Craft watch strap with these simple measurements. Use a millimetre ruler or digital callipers, and compare with a strap that already fits comfortably.

Illustrations are not to scale. All dimensions shown are examples, not size recommendations.
1. Measure the lug width
Measure the inside gap between the two watch lugs where the strap attaches. Measure straight across the gap in millimetres, not across the outside of the lugs.
Example: a 20 mm gap requires a strap with a 20 mm lug width. Watch case diameter is not strap width. Check the manufacturer’s specifications if you are unsure.
2. Check the buckle width
A tapered strap is wider at the watch and narrower at the buckle. Measure the strap width at the point where the buckle attaches, or the inside attachment width of your existing buckle.
Example: 20–18 mm = 20 mm lug width / 18 mm buckle width.
If reusing your own buckle or deployant clasp, also check the required strap thickness and attachment design. Matching width alone does not guarantee compatibility. Send us photos before ordering if you need help.
3. Measure both strap pieces
If your current two-piece strap fits comfortably, lay it flat and measure the leather of each piece separately:
- Short piece: the buckle-side piece. Measure from the watch attachment end to the buckle attachment end, excluding the metal buckle.
- Long piece: the piece with adjustment holes. Measure from the watch attachment end to the tip.
Example: 70–120 mm = 70 mm short piece / 120 mm long piece.
In this guide, lengths are written short piece first, long piece second. Check the convention stated in the specific product’s options before ordering, as other sellers may use a different order. When messaging us, label both measurements explicitly, for example “short: 70 mm; long: 120 mm”.
Strap length is not the same as wrist circumference. Watch case length, clasp design and adjustment-hole positions also affect the final fit.
4. Measure your wrist
Wrap a flexible measuring tape around the place where you wear your watch. Keep it snug without pressing into your skin. If you do not have a measuring tape, use a strip of paper, mark the overlap and measure it with a ruler.
Tell us your wrist circumference in millimetres and whether you prefer a snug or relaxed fit. If you cannot measure an existing strap, send your watch model and wrist measurement so we can help you choose from the available lengths.
5. Confirm the attachment style
Check whether your watch uses straight ends, curved ends or an integrated attachment. Lug width alone does not confirm compatibility with every watch.
For Apple Watch, confirm your exact watch model, case size and the adapter required. For unusual lugs, curved-end straps or a clasp you want to reuse, contact us before ordering.
Before placing your order
- Confirm your watch model and lug width.
- Confirm the buckle width and hardware requirements.
- Select the short-piece and long-piece lengths.
- Check the attachment style and discuss any custom requirements with us.
Need help choosing your size?
Send us your watch brand and model, wrist circumference, lug width and the labelled lengths of your current strap. Clear photos of the watch lugs and clasp are helpful.
